Was fushigi yuugi made into a book?

Well I'm a fan of the manga/ anime fushigi yuugi and recently I've heard that it has been turned into a book (like a novel). Is this true or just a made up rumor? If it is true can someone tell me a place I can read the book of it?|||There are book mangas of Fushigi Yugi. I don't know where they would be available online for free, but you might be able to find hard copies at the library.
