You see, the problem is that the mangas, all originally in Japanese, have to be first translated into a different language; for us, English. But anime publishing companies don't get paid for translating mangas, so they prefer not to. In actuality, onemanga *should* be able to have all chapters in a volume uploaded at once; because in Japan, mangas are never released, like how online manga-viewing sites are, chapter by chapter; they usually have about 10 chapters -- which equals a volume.
Manga scanlators take a while to do translate these mangas because they are doing this of their own free will, and in their free time; they reap nothing but the self-gratitude and occasional fan mail.
It's sad how some of the most greatest mangas have to be so unappreciated and unacknowledged; I feel exactly the same towards Claymore -- which, luckily, only takes a month (but feels like a long time).
Judging from how often onemanga ISN'T uploading Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden, I shouldn't be grumbling. The last update was in July, about half a year ago.

Good luck with finding quicker uploads, but onemanga is your best bet; there is basically no way around this, too.|||The truth is that Yuu watase (the manga's author),is very busy and has her mom in the hospital for quite some time and she has to finish other mangas before they deadline and says in her blog that she will continue drawing FYGK probably in March 2010 so we'll just hace to wait^^
