Tell me, is Fushigi Yugi: The Mysterious Play OVA ,really suppose to be the true ending of the series?

I'm confused about everything. I know what OVA means and all but "is" it suppose to be the true ending to it? Or is it just a made up thing that is not originally part of the actual series? Help :'(|||There is:
