Tragedies, dark theme (no heavy blood and gore please)

oo and another one is light tragedy love story is kabuto %26lt;3
both are not dark|||Do you want an original anime that was the most tragic anime i have ever seen and not bloody.
i strongly suggest that you watch
The Rose of Versailles
it is a story of a women who was raised to be a man because her father was this famous general in the french army during the time around the french revolution.
later she became the head of the royal army serving the Queen .
Torn between being a man or a women
And between being loyal to the queen or the revolution of France
And the love of two men .
this story provide the most intense romantic story i have ever seen .
with an ending that was tragic and epic .
i am rarely moved by an anime but this anime brought tear to my eyes at the end .
it was brilliant story , little slow at the beginning but after epiode 20 i couldn't even spending a second without thinking about it , at work , at home and even in my dreams .
one last important note : this anime is a classic old anime made at 1979 so if you are looking for a superb graphics or fan service this anime is not for you .|||Similar to Fushigi Yuugi!
