In Fushigi Yuugi does Miaki love Taki not Tamahome?

Okay I know I'm a little late at watching this but I'm really confused.. If you watch the OVA's at the end it seems like Taki and Tamahome are the same person but at the same time there not.. And apparently Miaki loves Taki. First, that pisses me off cause how can she love tamahome and now just change her mind and love Taki. Or am I getting it wrong ? Please help !
